Sophea, left Cambodia for a job in Malaysia but found herself trapped as a domestic worker with no pay, rotten food, and no escape.
After months of abuse, she escaped, homeless. Subject to more abuse and violence, Sophea was imprisoned for illegal migration and in prison gave birth to a daughter.
Returning to Cambodia, Sophea found support at Hagar. She received counseling and career training, and help to rebuild her life and care for her daughter.
